Now that the Hellfire Canyon Club video is up, I figured I would share my experience with the shoot. Shortly before the ride, Jess asked me if I would participate. I was quite flattered, thinking that she believed I would be a cool guy and a great rider for the musicians to spend the afternoon with. My only question was: do I ride the Honda VTX or the Suzuki Gladius? Turns out, she wanted me to transport Pete (the shooter) in my convertible Mini Cooper to help get footage.
After quickly recovering from my bruised ego, I agreed, since I used to listen to the Sex Pistols and House of Pain and "Jump Around" currently is on my iPod. Plus, I figured that it probably would be a good idea to have the lawyer along for risk management purposes with a group called the Hellfire Canyon Club.
I decided to take my 7 year old son, Pierce, since, true to RockMoto, he loves music and motorcycling (recently graduating from the ATV RiderCourse and DirtBike School). Pierce (the kid) and I (the driver) had a good time leading and following the guys on Sunset Blvd and the hills of Malibu.
I was impressed by the musicians' riding and their willingness to talk about their love of motorcycling on RockMoto. Most of all, I thought they were good guys. I judge everyone by how they treat my kids and these guys were really nice to Pierce; so they get high marks from me. Look for Pierce's cameo at the end of the video. Ride on.
