Thought I'd pass along a few pics from this year's Rock 'N Road OC, a RADD impaired-driving awareness event featuring a teen battle of the bands. RockMoto was on hand to disseminate shwag, scope the music and support all the safety organizations that were promoting sobriety on the road. [Did you know that in about half of all motorcycle FATALITIES, the rider had alcohol in their system? You can't walk a straight line when you're under the influence. Why, oh why, would you think you can ride a motorcycle?]
This band was awesome! The Impulse (www.myspace.com/theimpulsemusic). Really talented and very cool group of guys. They're playing at the House of Blues in Anaheim Monday the 26th.
Fat Daniel of KIIS FM did a great job keeping the crowd amped up.
We shared a booth with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and the Honda SMARTrainer, a simulator that gives you a taste of how unpredictable the real road can be.
Look! I'm onstage with my eyes closed. This was moments before I tossed a rolled-up T-shirt into the lights so it ricocheted into a small child below. Was trying to be impartial but I turned out to be more of a menace. I was ushered offstage shortly after.
One of my favorite banners at the event: "Think Before You Chewz." The gumballs are labeled "school," "drugs," "family," etc.
Really liked the "Be Sober" banner too. Also, the drummer from Transcend was great. Rock 'N Road was a fun event with a pretty serious message for teen drivers. Hope it made a big impression on everyone who attended -- including the adults!
